Schizophrenia: psychological / psychiatric disorders caused by chemical abnormalities in the brain. Which ultimately disrupt the systemic function and nerve impulses of the brain.
Schizoaffective disorder is a confused mental disorder characterized by a combination of symptoms of schizophrenia and symptoms of affective disorder (mood disorder), for example depression or mania (too much excitement, too excited, talk fast). Schizoaffective itself is divided into two types, namely bipolar type (the presence of mania and depression episodes) and depressive type (only has major depressive episodes)
Schizophrenia characteristics
• The appearance of hallucinations both visually, hearing and projecting past memories, etc.
• Abnormal behavior & based on instinct.
• Delusion is the belief that someone as if experiencing something (fantasy world)
• Communication is chaotic, aloof and out of control.
• Talking repeatedly to yourself
• Avoiding social contact
• Speaking and seeing things that don't exist
• Paranoia
• Problems with memory retention and reasoning
• Depression and lack of emotion
• Can not pay attention and speech patterns are inconsequential
General Characteristics: Schizoaffective disorders are characterized by both skiophrenia and affective disorders (mood disorders). The occurrence of a combination of symptoms of schizophrenia such as: hallucinations, hearing whispers, delusions, communication disorders with affective disorders such as anxiety, depression, sadness, anger or hysteria.
Both of these conditions are still not known the exact cause, but the risk factors include family with schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, or schizoaffective disorder.
