Global Warming
Global warming is one of the problems that is still the biggest human job in the world. Global warming or anthropogenic greenhouse effect occurs due to the depletion of the ozone layer in the world, so that the sun directly enters the world without any filter to protect it, and the filter is ozone. Global warming is also against climate change in an extreme and unpredictable world, when the rainy season and the rainy season arrive.
Global climate change is an increase in the global average seen resulting from the release of greenhouse gases produced by human activities.
Specifically, we will discuss the role played by the United States conservative movement in the challenge of the legitimacy of the problem of change, and want to point to the core of organizations within the conservative movement mobilized in recent years as a change movement that moves the movement and its allies to develop the seriousness of the problem. Global environment .
The Legitimacy of Global Warming as a Problem
In the early 1990s, social scientists began to learn how social and political forces viewed global warming as a legitimate social problem, and needed corrective action.
At first the issue of global warming did not receive attention in the media, only at the beginning of the 1990s, news about a very long drought, rain that could not be predicted when it came, made the media start covering social problems that were accepted by the public.
But even though it has been raised in the media, not all people are concerned about it, Ungar (1998) recently stated that the great controversy over global warming, because it does not become as valuable as a more successfully defined problem of ozone depletion, while studies note global warming claims to just run away as a social problem and now compete with more pressing issues to get attention.
Social Issues and Social Movements
In the past, some sociologists tried to bridge the gap between the social problems literature and the social movement literature. Both have extensive differences in orientation
He argues that European continental sociology adopts a social movement orientation capable of accommodating both macro and micro-level focus on social processes.
Apart from this difference, several theories have attempted to synthesize social problems and social movement orientation. In the first major attempt to bridge these two literary attributes, Mauss (1975) points out that the claim-making approach to social problem theory is best understood from the perspective of social movements. . Troyer (1989) also contemplated the need to maintain two different bodies of literature if the two might actually study the same phenomenon.
The broad overlap between social movement approaches and social construction approaches in the social problem literature, suggests that both give theoretical attention to the construction process of meaning and both focus on the interaction between complainants and their target audiences (pp. 54-55)
The appearance of a countermeasure
According to Brulle (2000) and Switzer (1997), there is always opposition to environmental movements and protection efforts in the United States, but opposition from these environmental movements is more diverse and numerous. Most of these movements tend to focus on local or regional issues, especially challenging government restrictions on using natural resources. However, in the case of global environmental problems, we see a new push for full-scale environmental opposition from the conservative movement. So, while there are always opposing environmental and protection movements, the global frame of environmental problems produces more — especially from the mainstream of the conservation movement (Beder 1997; Bruner and Oelschlaeger 1994).
Indirectly humans themselves have disrupted the ecosystems that exist in this world itself, especially the excessive use of natural resources, thus disturbing the quality of the environment that can cause changes in the global environment.
The many environmental problems, especially global warming, are increasingly interpreted as examples related to human impacts that have damaged the global ecosystem. Along with government and university scientists, especially those involved with the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC), environmental organizations such as the Natural Resources Defense Council have played a leading role in promoting specific claims about global warming since the late 1980s. Basically, these environmental advocates claim that increasing scientific evidence supports the idea that global warming is either happening now or will happen in the near future. Furthermore, they asserted that global warming will negatively impact almost every aspect of our lives, potentially causing important problems in the future. In addition, they argue that actions needed to slow down or stop global warming are beneficial overall, because they will also help improve other diseases such as resource depletion and pollution. As such, they claim that we must act immediately to avoid future global crises. It is not surprising that the conservative movement turned its attention to global environmental change (GEC) and global warming.
Not only awakening the general public due to global warming, this review explains how the political elite should also be involved in the improvement movement, because they are policy makers on natural resources managed by the State, and also regulation of private party policies in managing resource materials or in conducting business industries that can pollute the environment.
The Discourse Manifest Destiny emphasizes that human welfare depends on unlimited access to abundant natural resources, the development of these resources, and the transformation of these resources into useful commodities through work (Brulle 2000).
